Speedsport Scholarship winner Conrad Clark has confirmed a 2018 drive with Kiwi Motorsport in the US Formula 4 Championship. The fifteen-year-old currently drives for Sabre Motorsport in the Hi Q Components Formula First National Series.
The Taupo-based driver will head to the USA later in April for the start of the six round series while his supporters are busy working on putting the final budget together.
Clark is excited about the coming season and says this is both the biggest opportunity and challenge for him at the same time. “I fully intend to do the best I can for the new team”.
“We are so pleased to have Conrad join Kiwi Motorsport,” commented Garry Orton from Kiwi Motorsport. “The team was set up to open doors for Kiwi drivers and mechanics and having a Kiwi driver means a lot to us and falls in line with our goals. Conrad will be racing on the big stage in the States and we know he will perform well and learn from this experience. Dennis Martin has done a fantastic job in preparing him for this with his scholarship and we believe he will make Dennis proud”
Clark credits this season’s performance on the New Zealand based Sabre Motorsport team owned by Dennis Martin. “Dennis and his team are committed to the success of the Formula First racing and they have mentored many young drivers at the start of their career”.
Clark will begin the American Championship on 27-29 April 2018 at the Virginia International Raceway.
